It should be understood that the K-Method and its price formulas are first of all a theoretical exercise which for outsiders may be a reasonable way to do business. However, insiders such as buyers and especially suppliers are at first resistant to working with the K-Method. This resistance is quite understandable since the K-Method leads to significant time savings for the buyer and especially for the supplier’s key accountant. Thus there is a felt threat that introducing the K-Method will require the restructuring of the departments affected. The fact that the K-Method has already been successfully introduced in practice will not reduce such resistance. In this chapter the most frequent points brought forward by buyers and suppliers and how they can be refuted are discussed.
